Are you worried about the claws?

Interesting note: African Clawed Frogs are illegal to own, transport or sell without a permit in the following US states: Arizona, California, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Virginia, Hawaii,[SUP][21][/SUP] Nevada, and Washington state. You look like you'll be okay.

Yeah, i was wondering if they can scratch the acrylic.

I got pretty interested and looked these guys up. Wow, a lot of folks do care about them...interesting pets!

Anyhoo, no one mentioned concerns over scratched acrylic. The hind claws (as you know) are used to tear apart prey, not for locomotion, so likely would not get used against a flat surface. However, the frogs are quite strong and can shove large objects against the tank, so there are concerns over cracked glass. Since most people recommend smallish tanks (10-29 gallons) the glass would be fairly thin.

Acrylic might be a safer bet unless you specifically remove rocks and large decor.

Wow! 10-29 gallons?! Thats tiny! These guys get big, and like to swim. Mine are with the rest of my stock in my 240 gallon.
