I recently picked up 4 flowerhorn fry/juvies that I'd like to grow out in hopes of getting a female. Although they are still young and get along fairly well, I'd like to put some hiding places in the tank to keep the peace. So I went to home depot and purchased what I thought to be a terra cotta pot, but turned out to be a Clay Orchid Pot. After cutting it down to size, I noticed it had a black core. Does anyone know if this is safe for the fish? I put a lot of work into getting it cut, but obviously don't want to harm the fish.

For those who may encounter this situation, I have tested the pots pictured in the original post in a 10 gallon tank containing 2 small Flowerhorns. It's been almost a week and I see no sign of harm to the fish.
