Can someone give me some information on how to cut out holes in clay pots without making the pot crack or totally damaging the pot??

Drill holes with a masonry bit and cut sections out with a wet diamond saw blade (ex: tile saw). Don't push the cut. Let the bit/blade do the work. Wet cutting cuts down on damage from heat expanding the material.

if you cant afford diamonds carbide grit bits work too remington makes them, keep them wet while cutting

I've always used a hammer and a screwdriver to get out the bottom... Never broke one...
