What do you suggest I should get for a 29 gallon tank? I was thinking I was going to get blue/red legged hermit crabs and some turbo snails-- how many of each do you think I should get? Any other recommendations on things I should get? My current plans are a yellow tailed damsel- Firefish- 2 occilaris clowns - and maybe eventually a dwarf bi-color angel if thats not too crowded- I also want a Bicolor Pseudochromis but I'm pushing it already so I'll see what I end up with when I decide what I want.

Thanks for any help!!!

a bicolor angel would be too large for a 29 gallon (almost 9 inches)

for clean up i would recomend something similar to this:

about 15 of the hermits (either one)
about 15-20 astrea snails (turbos die if they fall over as they can't right themselves)
and one oddball, a sally lightfoot crab, pincushion urchin, cleaner shrimp, what-have-you

even if they only get 6" that's still too big for a 30 gallon tank IMHO...

liveaquaria isn't exactly the most... consice... when it comes to tank or animal sizes

it recomends that 3-4 foot sharks, arowana, catfish, etc be kept in a 2 foot wide tank
and that a 10+ foot airapima be kept in a 10 foot tank

ok place to buy fish from, no so good for research.. remember, they are still trying to make the fish appealing to a larger number of people

dont forget peppermint shrimp for any aiptasia you may get! I dont mind it but dont keep much coral then 20 hermits 10 snails a few cc stars!

Usually I think the rule of thumb is 1 snail per gallon and 1 hermit crab per two gallons of water. And 1 starfish per 30 gallons...

I am really confused about aiptasia are they really bad or what? I know I have a couple that are in the tank now that are on some of my live rocks-- should I get rid of them before I get any fish or anything? what bad about them?

they grow really fast and can sting/kill coral and small fish

i'd get rid of them ASAP.. peppermiont shrimp have always worked well for me, but a syringe full of hot water, lemon juice, or kalkwasser would work equally well if there's only a few of them
