I have a 56 column tank with a ac 70 and eheim 2217 at both biological and mechanical filter with a ac sponge on inlet of both filter as aprefilter. lots of frogbits, 2 fresh water lettuce, some brazilian pennywort , one compact sword and six anubias nana to help control nitrates. Residents are twom 5inch featherfin catfish, one callichtys callichtys catfish , one survivng fire cichlid, blue gourami, three each of spotted and stripe raphaeal catifish. Heating with 200 watt heater to about 78-80 degrees and weekly 15-20% water change. Two workshop reflectors with cfl at 23 watts each on for durationn of 10 hours a day, Would a large bamboo shrimps or nerite snails be good as additional clean up crew?

Not sure if the nerites will hold up with those residents, but the bamboo shrimp i have a feeling will be fish food in no time...

Freshwater clams will filter the aquarium if you need a little filter ffeeder but don't keep 2together as they have parasitic young and attach themself to a fishes gills and and drop off in a matter of days(if you didn't know freshwater clams or mussels are asexual)

Clams do a fantastic job of filtering the water
