so what are you going to do with them? put them in some canister or put a layer of them on a drip tray in your sump?

Be prepared to change them very often

i have tryed them in my interal filter 1st see how they work out,i put them under the fine white pad so i will see if any dirt getting traped,,,if they work i will put them in my canister on just 1 side, but like sprit says im gona have to change them often, so if they work i might not need them in my canister

i'm having the same problem, very small particles making my water cloudy. i'll follow this to see how it works for you. i need something i can put in my drip tray. i tried foam, like the stuff they put in seat cushions but the flow was to fast and just ran over the top of it..... will keep looking too

good luck

Buy a new pillow cut it open and use the cotton inside works like a charm

update,, ya im happy with the face pads, i looked to day its been about a week since i put them in and they wer under the white filter pad, the face pads wer brown with fine dirt and they wer white wer they overlaped so that tells me they do take fine dirt out, on the down side they seem to slow down the flow a small bit but i only put them in the internal filter,, iv changed them and will continue to use them they cost pennys so hay

Try solving the root of the problem and spare having to do extra filtration and avoid future occurences! Cloudy water can be a sign of many things, some of which may not be good (ammonia, high waste, slime coat etc) and if it doesnt go away with proper water changes then id narrow it down even more (what kind of food? Hard or soft water? Cycled tank? High temps? Contaminated decor?Etc)

Jusy my advice as i want you to enjoy your fish for as long as possible :)

Nope didnt help. Theres still something making it cloudy. I run a xp4 with no polishing gimmick pads lol i only use 2 20/30pore sponge plus 2 pounds of ceramic media and my first layer is "PRE FILTER CERAMIC RING" which may be my trick but surely its my BB breaking down the junk in my water!

but if your face pads work then sweet! Just dont steal ur wifes! Lol
