Hey everyone,
I grow pothos/peace lilly in my 40 breeder and I was wondering if there might be a fish compatible with a senegal that could help keep organic matter out of the root system in my tank. It's a pain in the butt to clean the roots every waterchange, and if there were a fish that could eat any organic matter in the roots/not get eaten by a senegal I'd love a suggestion. Cherry shrimp would work if they were not going to get eaten.
40 breeder with 1 senegal and a leopard ctenopoma.

I would try some livebearers like swordtails. Big enough not to get eaten for a while. Maybe some bushynose plecos.

i've used mature swordtails before, and the problem is that they tend to stay at the bottom during lights out. Sooner or later they'd get bitten. how about a school of giant danios? they seem to stay at the upper portion of the tank even at night.
