So i have a 55gal with my FH in it by himself... the water is a BIT cloudy..because I can not put ANY plants in there, and the substrate is SAND... I know... the way he digs...cloudly water is nothing new...

However, I am worried about keeping the tank actually CLEAN internally...is there any fish I could add into my FH tank to make the tank cleaner, at the same time he won't bother with? I do 2 week water changes of 25-30% I vaccum as much of his waste I can, but some still get stuck in the sand here and there...

I have a small pleco in there, and my FH can't be bothered with bottom dewellers, and my Pleco has VERY nice hiding spaces, I made for him... but he does not eat waste, is there any species that would help clean my sand? Please advise! Thanks guys!

There are no tank cleaning, poo eating fish that I know of. That's your job as the fishkeeper to clean that up. The plec is prob responsible for a lot of that poo.

You need to be doing water changes every week, not every couple weeks :P Thats why there's poo and cloudy water. Plecos dont clean the water. They just made it dirtier :P It's your job to clean the tank and keep the water clear and poop-free.

arighty then, i will do it every week, ...once again lol... i just HATE HATE carrying buckets... VACUM>water goes to bucket>carry bucket to bathroom>dump water>redo again...

Is there any vaccums that make the job easier?

would a python be suitable for any type of taps? I live in Australia, so wondering...is the nozzle that connects to the tap for re-filling water...adjustable to the size? or is it like a hose, has a default size...?

clean the poo off the surface of the sand with syphon and bucket...

Then empty the rest of the water by hooking up a hose to the toilet... thats what i used to do...

then to re-fill, get a hose that will fit your faucet, and then turn on the water and re-fill... just make sure the hose is a TIGHT fit on your tap, or you may end up with water every where...

you're lucky ya FH lets anything in the tank ... mine killed pleco's inside of 2 days ... on the syphoning front, i put a long hose on the end of my vacuum and suck it straight out to the garden.l
