IN YOUR HEAD
i have a 4 some of triggerfish along with a mix of other fish in my tank. they are a niger, piccasso, blue jaw and a pinktail. i have had bad experience with the triggers and inverts, crabs and shrimp didn't make it. i have seen them pick off some small snails that have come with my LR, but i have not added any larger snails with any success. then just cause i got a turbo snail the other day and they didn't give it more then a close inspection. the snail is still alive and it has done some "cleanning". i want to try some more inverts for this tank. how many snails should i get? i will try hermit crabs again, but i will see how the addition of more snails go first. the next tank they will be in is a 120gal or a 125gal.

I am using a couple turbos and about 15 astrea snails in a 125g.

I would add 25 hermits like four times a year if I were you. They make good chow, and keep your triggers busy. :D

i have thought about using a few more turbos. since they are mostly active in the night when the triggers are asleep i figured they would be the best bet. i may end up doing that with the crabs. just got to find a good cheap bulk sorce on them. they go for $2 each around me.

Yikes, ya 2 bucks is a lot. I number of places around me they are 1 to 1.25.

The turbos may or may not work with the triggers. Try a few and see what happens and go from there.

Sooner or later, the triggers will get to everything. A trigger tank's CUC is a constantly changing buffet. This will not get better as they start to grow.

Hermits can be bought in bulk...and I will sell hermits to you if you would like. We can do better than $2 a pop for the dwarfs which is what I recommend anyways.

i'll have to see how the snails go. they also aren't cheap around me. this turbo was $4. most everything for salt tanks is expencive around me. thats been the main reason i have stuck to freshwater tanks. i for the most part prefure to get things locally cause shipping gets to be alot after a while, but we'll see.

one plus is that the yellow tang that was injured by the falling rock is doing much better. it is out and about more aswell as eatting some more. the triggers seem to be fighting less aswell. idk if they are just temp leaving the snail alone, but i hope it lasts.

Let me know if you ever want to do a bulk cleaner pack.

We can talk prices...Im sure I can get you a good deal on everything.

Dam fleshy, what don't you sell? lol :D

Corals, frags, crabs, fish...you have a store? Or all from the lab?

Just curious ;)

Try nassarius. They are on the smallish side, but they bury themselves in the sand and only come out when food is present.
They are cool little snails with "snorkels" that poke out of the sand.
They won't eat algae, however. They eat other fishes poop, and any meaty food your triggers don't get! :D
