Folks,

What did y'all use to prep your tank's glass before you painted it? Need something that's absolutely safe on the glass.

Looking for something that will remove any sort of contaminants that may be on the glass. Don't want to be screwed after the paint is on!

Thanks.

well youre planning to paint the outside back pane..right? or else toxic chemicals can/will leach into the tank.. will you be using latex paint?.. thats the best, comes right off by peeling, but if its going on the outside, you wouldnt have to worry tooo awful much about safe or not.. it shouldnt come in contact with water anyway, natural windex if you want

I used normal blue windex.

I have always used Rubbing Alcohol for prep prior to painting. Also try to apply and dry using a lint free cloth, microfiber works great.
It isn't rocket science but good prep usually leads to good results when dealing with paint.
