Just purchased a used tank with a used 2217 . Question I have is do I replace all the media ? It's been sitting dry . I know I need to replace the sponge on top . Thanks for the advice !

I would replace both pads add soak the bio in very hot tap water, gut feeling says to add salt as well then rinse well.
So turns out it wasn't sitting dry .the thick blue sponge looked good so I soaked and rinsed it in extremely hot water " could barely stand my hands under it for more than a second or two and rang it out till it was clean . Soaked and cleaned bio balls and the othe hollow media in same extremely hot water . Got a new top pad . Going to fill the tank now , add bacteria , and hurry up and wait for it to cycle lol thanks !
