So we have a much of these organe or terracotta pots outside, some plastic but some real.

So I took a small one from outside and started cleaning it, but its still kinda dirty (with soil and whatnot)

I have a baby convict who is now in his own little tank with just a a driftwood "cave" (open on both sides but he can go under it) so I want to put this pot in there for him, cause I know the Convicts love them (at least when they are breeding)

Any thoughts on how to clean this thing better? Or just scrub it down again and the little soil isnt a big deal

I soak them in a bucket of hot water and bleach. then re-soak in plain hot water, refreshing several times. then add dechlor to last soak.

You guys should not be worried about a little sooo in you system. These fish in the wild live with a 'little dirt'. Just rinse it and it should be fine

Yeah ive added rocks and pots from the yard before. Just scrub with water only (no soap), rinse and you should be good as long as there was no exposure to chemicals, pesticides etc.

I got dirt off mine by letting it sit in a 5 gallon bucket in about 90 degree water. Then after the excess soil was off, I scrubbed it with a brand new sponge. Then I let it sit in another 5 gallon bucket with fresh water.
