I have 2 ac110s on my 125 as of right now and the oldest one is due for a cleaning...my question is my newest one has been on there for about 2 months and pretty sure its built up enough bb but do i just take off my old ac110 and clean it and leave the other runnin and my tank be fine? and how do yall go about cleaning them? my foam media is ready to be changed so should i just change it or rinse it or what....last time i just rinsed it in my tank and my tank looked like a freaking river!!!

I always leave one filter running while I clean the other filter. I would rinse the foam media instead of replacing it. Don't rinse it out in the tank. Siphon some water from the tank into a bucket. Rinse the media in the bucket of tank water not in the tank itself. This helps to keep some of your bacteria whereas rinsing it in tap water would kill a lot of the bacteria. Once I've rinsed out the media, I clean out the canister box itself. Put it back together, plug it in and do a partial water change and you're done!

dont replace the sponge, they should be good for a long time. All i would do is take the whole AC110 off of the tank. Rince/clean the sponge(i do it in the sink under running water). Empty some tank water into a bucket to rince off the bio media.(dont use tap water) Rince out the ac110 itself and clean the impeller. Then reasemble. when it starts back up, it wont spit out a bunch of gunk back into the tank. This way way you have a clean, cycled ac110. I would wait another few weeks befor you do the other one.

Yeah, I pull mine and drop the bio-max into the tank. I drag the sponges out into the driveway and power wash the crap out of them. Only part I don't ever wash off is the bio-max, the sponge IMO is just for catching crap and I clean it as such.
