Cleaning Acrylic

What is the best way to clean acrylic? I have done a few searches, but you get quite a bit of conflicting information.

First I need to take off some sticky gooey stuff, and then for regular maintenance.

Sticky stuff could be hard since a lot of solvents may blemish the acrylic. If you can just use a damp rag. I use magic erasers to clean mine. They are inert too so if they contact tank water nothing leeches out (unless you use cleaners with them)

I use water, microfiber towel and some elbow grease for anything on my acrylic

If the sticky stuff is on the exterior of the acrylic, you can use lighter fluid to remove it.

Cotton t shirt and vinegar. DON'T use paper towels. The wood fibers will scratch the tank.

Yeah the Mr clean ones. Ive seen tons of posts of saltwater guys using them inside and outside of their tanks, as long as it doesnt touch chemicals of course

You can clean the dust with regular cleaning stuff and to remove more obstinate, especially greasy stains from acrylic use petroleum ether or benzine

There are a lot of acrylic polishing products that work great.

For the sticky stuff, test out goo gone in an inconspicuous area first, but in my experience it does not damage acrylic: http://googone.com/
