Been having a bit of flow through problems with my sump as of late (been slackin on the cleaning...). I've noticed that since i put one of those 260W Coral-life power compact fixture on the tank, that algae has been growing like mad INSIDE of the inverted "U" in my CPR overflow box. I'm a bit leary of using pipe cleaners because they don't allow for much control in terms of cleaning once you bend them. I want some real elbow grease action going on. DEATH TO THE ALGAE! The only thing that seems to be a point of access is the actual siphon knob that sits on top of the box, but I'm not entirely sure of the material and equipment that I need in order to complete this job to my satisfaction.
Does anybody have any helpful tips and suggestions in order to get this nuisance algae out of the way? Remember, these boxes are made of acrylic and I'd rather not scratch mine if I can help it
Thanks everyone!
P.S. Does anybody here ever find themselves cleaning and scrubbing their equipment to a point where its cleaner than truely needed? I sure do.
