I put the bio-media in a small mesh bag. The other media is the EhfiMech in the bottom loose. The rest of the filter has the Eheim blue sponges, 1 white fine pad and with the bio-media mesh bag last.
For maintenance, I remove the mesh bag and place it in a pail of tank water. Remove and discard the fine pad if it doesn't rinse clean. Remove and rinse out the blue pads. Pour the EhfiMech into a pasta strainer and rinse. Rinse filter housing. Clean impeller and impeller well with a small tube brush. Reassemble everything in reverse order and I'm done. Takes 15 minutes tops.
