Cleaning empty tank tips

So I am getting a nice 55g tank for my girlfriends sister which is really filthly. Never cleaned or anything. After emptying completely what would be the best way to clean this thing like new? Chemicals etc.?

yup, just rinse well. Can use for actually quite a bit of other cleaning too in a non-harmful/non-chemical way.
