Cleaning former saltwater setup question...

I just picked up a semicircle 144 tank that had been a saltwater setup. I was wondering about the best way to go about removing the coral polyps on the glass and mineral buildup. I tried vinegar on the last set up that I converted to fress water because of the acetic acid with the calcium carbonate but it never worked too well. Anyone, have any other tricks?

I have had some tank cleaning luck with "Mr Clean magic erasers" but I have never converted a used saltwater tank.
