Cleaning habbits for a SW FOWLR tank

If im running a canister how often should I clean it ? Ive read from everyweek to once a month. What are you thoughts ? I will be getting a hob skimmer soon aswell. Hopefully by summer time upgrading to a sump.

(tank is not setup yet, I will be setting it up in 3 weeks roughly)

Clean canister every 1-2 weeks. I would not go longer than 2 due to the nitrate factory. Skimmer wills help much. People will recommended a sump. Probably best idea. What size tank anyways

buy at least 2 sets of dpi media - swap them out everyweek and include a few units of chem pure elite or purigein for nitrates. Don't use rings or stars instead use rubble rock.

im using a c-360 so take out the bio ball and the ceramics and put rubble rock ? (my lfs has it so its easily obtainable!) but i have no idea what dpi is. its a 125 gal. i hope my lfs has chem pure. Ive never seen in before.

dpi (sizes are dots per inch)- the pads are the black poly foam type media sold with canisters - yup no bio balls

oh, thanks.... Yea ill put crushed reef rubble in the place of the bio balls and ceramic rings.
