I don’t want to use magnet cleaners for fear of scratching up my new tank. I do have a couple of them though. Anyone found something that works good and has a decent reach for a large tank? Bare bottom tank just want to keep the inside walls and bottom wiped down with minimal effort. Thinking maybe some sort of extendable scrubber?

i take the normal magnet cleaner. get the roll of garden underlay its super cheap. wrap the magnet a few times in it. use an elastic band to secure it to the magnet.

Microfiber blankets for car cleaning work like a charm. They're the size of beach towels. Tie one around a pole with jumbo rubber bands, reach into the tank and sweep clean. I keep a bunch of them for quick cleanup in emergencies from overflows/spills. They absorb massive water.

If you're concerned about scratching your new tank and want to avoid using magnet cleaners, there are alternative options available to clean the inside walls and bottom of your tank with minimal effort. An extendable scrubber can be a good choice for reaching the entire surface area. Here are a few options you can consider:
1. Look for an algae scraper with an extendable handle. These typically come with replaceable scrubbing pads or blades that can effectively remove algae and debris from the glass without scratching it. The extendable handle allows you to reach the bottom and all areas of the tank easily.
2. There are various types of adjustable cleaning brushes designed specifically for aquarium use. These brushes usually have an extendable handle and soft bristles that won't harm the glass. You can adjust the length of the handle to suit your tank's size.
3. If you already have magnet cleaners, you can try using ones that come with soft pads instead of abrasive pads. These pads are gentler on the glass and reduce the risk of scratches. Additionally, some magnet cleaners have floating designs that prevent gravel or sand from getting trapped between the cleaner and the glass, further minimizing the risk of scratches.
