I have a large wet/dry sump for my 120 gallon tank. I am considering using some of the extra space for plants and have already setup a light in the cabinet. I was considering using water hyacinth as I have a LOT of that growing in my koi pond. Would this work? Before I do it, I know there are "creepy crawlys" living on the hyacinth and in their roots. Is there a way to kill or remove them without damaging the plants? I'm guessing that just using them as is would be a bad idea for my tank.
Any ideas??
