So I am new here. I have two oscars one black and one white had them since they were babies. I had a few question tho. I would feed them Cichlid Gold and blood worms. My buddy had 3 huge Oscars and he told me to start feeding them feeder fish. So is that a good idea or not. I notice that the tank gets alot more dirty by feeding them live fish. What is the best way to go about cleaning the gravel? Thanks for any and all advice.

Forget the feeder fish, feed pellets. It's much healthier for your fish. Use a gravel vacuum to clean your substrate.

hello and welcome. no feeders. stay with pellets and frozen foods and your o has much less chance of getting disease or parrisite.

agreed with above.....stick with pellets, but make sure you mix up there diet....meat pellets and veggie pellets. you don't want HITH.

everyone before is right...you will have to do heavy water changes since they're oscars...also that will prevent hole in the head (HITH) disease

Thank you all for the advice. I have them in a little tank right now since I got them they were so tiny but they are getting big really fast. I am going to be moving in a few months but I am looking to get a real nice set up to put them in. Would a 100 gl be ok or would I need bigger. I want some tank mates as well. Last question any advice on how to move them when ready so prevent them for stressing. Thanks to all. sry for all the noobi questions. :headbang2
