FW live rock rust easily, suggest bump up reductive potential in water. Please no bleach or mechanical scrubbing, as FW live rock has very sensitive epidermis.
OK, feel sorry for all rubbish before. Maybe OP joking when say FW live rock, maybe not joking, but victim of scam. So, I think better I clarify: so-called FW live rock is scam, is not real. Just means a porous rock which has beneficial bacteria. But same beneficial bacteria as living in biological filter media, same beneficial bacteria as in sand substrate, same beneficial bacteria as on tank walls, on plastic plant surfaces, etc, etc. Some fish shops trying to make money selling "FW live rock", but nothing more than a porous rock taken from established / cycled tank.
