What is the best way to prep pool filter sand for a tank. Just wondering. This is my first time using it and i have no clue. Thanks.

pour 1 bag at a time into a 5 gallon bucket then run water from the garden hose into the bucket, lket all the floating debris rise to the top and pour over the edges, empty the water out after that and repeat the process over about 4 to 5 times. Then you should be good to go.

Thanks!

Should I take my fish out to put the sand in? like in a separate bucket? As to not harm it

Mine had no problem when I switched (just cheap play sand). I washed mine really well, so I had no clouding at all

I dont rinse pool filter sand. I probably should, but I've never had a problem with it clouding water too bad.

Give it a splash and throw it in:)

Didn't clean mine. Very little cloudyness for a few days.

well i washed the heck otu of mine and it still made it couldy, but i dont think it'll last long, it just needs to settle some. i know my JD loves it so far

i use a pillow cover to wash it out and then lower the whole thing into the tank and gently let the sand out
