Cleaning Seachem Pond Matrix?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dont use water strait from the sink the chlorine will kill your good bacteria. Just take some water out of your tank in a bucket and give your matrix a rinse.

I dont have matrix, I've got fluval bio-max, but I rinse mine in tank water every time I service canister. Which is about every 6weeks or so.

I have mine in mesh laundry bags in my sump. I usually pick them up and shake them once a month, then vaccuum the sump. If they aren't really that dirty is usually leave them be.

Either way, if you do just shake it out in tank water(or the water in the filter) and you should be fine.

Do not rinse under tap water. Get a bucket, fill it up with aquarium water and rinse the media inside
