do you guys have any suggestions for cleaning the white (algea? calcium?) residue that builds up on the exterior of tanks? i've been scrubbing the glass w/ windex and kitchen cleaner and using a razorblabe and the stuff does not want to come off. there has to be something that will disolve it. ..
im sure getting it off the plastic hood will be even harder.
thanks

not even the mr. clean magic eraser..... i thought those things would clean anything.

Im also desperate to get this crap off my lyds:swear: !!!!!!

Some one has to know the secret.

Try a mixture of vinegar and water.

if it's calcium maybe a little Lime Away or other sulfamic acid. These are usually safe for glass. Dilute it of course with a litlle water.

I have always used vinigar and water and it works great. I would stay away from chemicals I am always worried that it could get into the tank even by mistake. you can also try

Paste made of white vinegar and baking soda; let stand, then rinse
or
1 teaspoon Calgon in gallon water, rinse well
or
2-4 tablespoons trisodium phosphate in gallon water, then rinse

I want to see you make a paste out of vinegar and baking soda  . Didn't you have science in H.S.? :D (unless you keep it under 300psi of pressure, but then it's real difficult to use :screwy: ).

Baking soda & water to scrub with maybe?

Calgon? are you trying to relax to deposits so they fall off? (never tried it)
