I picked up a 50 ft. used siphon for my tank the other day and noticed some kind of fungus buildup in the tube and was just wondering what would be the best way to clean it. So far i have just run some hot water through it for a few min, but I was thinking of running some hydrogen peroxide or salt through it as well. What would you all recommend? Quick answers would be MUCH appreciated because the tank needs to be filled tonight. Thanks, everyone!

i dont really mind it... never harmed my fish in the last year ive been using the siphon

I actually run hot bleach water through my Pythons twice a year. It gets rid of that fungus stuff and cleans the tubing out well.

After I run the hot bleach water I dose a tub of water with extra de-chlor and run that through the tube. Then I hang the Pythons up in the sun for a couple days, until the bleach smell is gone. I rinse the tubes one last time with fresh hot water and de-chlor and they're ready to go!
