Hi all,
I'm not even sure this is the right place to post this question. I have two 55 gallon tanks, and, i'm sure like everyone else's tanks, after awhile crud starts to collect on top of the tank lids. I usually just try to go at it with hot water and an abrasive sponge, but it never gets quite as clean as my wife would like. I am very hesitant to use any chemicals...does anyone have any advice or suggestions? Perhaps they sell some type of cleaner that is nontoxic to fish? any advice would be greatly appreciated

try vinegar and water or lemon juice,I put in a clean spray bottle i got from dollar store.

I've used CLR. But be sure to rinse, rinse and rinse again. Better rinse again.

Just take the lids off and use vinegar/lemon juice and scrub pretty hard. After a bit of elbow grease, you'll find it to look pretty good. The BEST thing about newly cleaned tops is that the lights shine through even more and display the fish better.
