The largest tank I've had was a 8L x 2.5D x 2.5H Acrylic. Never really had much trouble cleaning the insides as I did not have a canopy and would climb up with half my body in the tank wiping it down during water change. I use Acrylic safe Mag Cleans for the the front and sides where possible.

I'm about to get a new 8L x 3W x 2.5 High Acrylic, this time I'm getting a canopy with it and it being that deep, there's no way in hell I'll be able to get to the back! and since the tank is going against a wall and the sides are somewhat limited in space..they too are going to be difficult to get my arm in. The tank is on a Sump.

Just curious with all of you who have 30", 36, 48" wide tanks how do you maintain the inside of your tanks with removal of any unwanted nasties?

I will have Rays, Aros, PBass.....so FW of course...just wanted to see who's does what.

I never leave home without these...

Kent, long scraper. the ends are interchangeable. up to 35" long

Then, you use the yellow scraper for tuff algae on glass

The red scraper for tuff algae (&and any algae inside scratches) on acrylic.

And the pad extension for an all around scrubbing

I also keep zip ties and a regular old scrbby brush. The type you can get at Wallymart for the kitchen. So if I have to scrub wood or ornaments in the back, I can reach and handle it. I just zip tie it to the poll.

Then, all you need is the magnet. I like to wrap the outside magnet with a soft towel and the inside magnet I cover with a thin white filter pad so as not to scratch anything.

yeah...good points to be taken for sure. I do have a 36" Kent scaper as like you. I guess I will just need to pick up the adapters for acrylic and pads....that should be ok....

I use a step ladder to get to the tops of my tank and then I use my large bro-arms to span the gaps.
