Any suggestions on what to clean artificial plants with? Perhaps a soak in vinegar and a good rinse?

You can also dip them in water/bleach solution, then rinse them real good.

Take the artificial plants out of the tank and put them in a bucket of water. Add a denture cleaning tablet. After the plant is clean, rinse well and put back in tank.
