Is there any kind of cleanup crew possible for a flowerhorn?

Bristlenose work as long as the fh are exposed to them at a young age. If its been solitary its whole life it may relentlessly attack anything you put in with it.

This has been my experience as well, esp. if the Bristlenose was in the tank first. But if your FH has been mostly solo as Aquatic Aggression says, odds are it won't accept anything in the tank -- then like I've done with my super aggro Kamfa, I'd suggest to get a UV sterilizer on your tank to control algae.
