Clear pvc Pipe

Ok I was kind of upset at the price of 4 inch clear pvc pipe but check out the prices of the 3"-8" fittings.

Anyone know where to get this stuff that isn't trying to take advantage of government funded research?

I was thinking of maybe plumbing a tank and making a fluidized bed filter with the stuff but maybe I'll look for some acrylic/polycarbonate.

The acrylic tube is cheaper and can be glued with PVC fittings. Occasionally you'll find some scraps on eBay. But the clear stuff is just plain expensive. For acrylic tube in diameters like PVC, try customaquatic.com - their catalog is nice and has a lot of practical information in it. Usplastic has some as well.

I find that it is expensive as well if I can ever find it. Would fluorescent "protective tube" sleeves work for you? I've seen those at most HW stores.

and hey CLEAR PVC is pricey pretty much wherever you get it
this link is for clear acrylic but has better optical clarity than pcv and you can get the same OD as pvc so it will work with standard fittings just need to use the right glue to hold it together

Thanks for the input. I think I'll just use regular fittings on the FBF due to the crazy prices.
