Ok so weird question... This morning I found a strange white/clear gelatin like substance in my tank. Approximately 50 cent piece size in diameter and maybe 3/8" thick. It was attached to one of my pump intakes. When I first saw it the light was off and I assumed it was a dead fish. However, all fish accounted for. Tank occupants include a pair of mm's, silver aro, pair of geo heckelii, and a discus.

As I pulled it out it fell apart a little. It broke into smaller chunks when squished like jello would. Tank was a little cloudy, but quality is good. Any ideas?

Im not feeding gel food. Currently feeding crawlers, krill, massivore, tilapia, and shrimp.

Male is about 11" disk measuring front to back with rolled claspers. Female is just slightly smaller. I would say they are mature or nearly there. I have seen the male chasing and biting the female a lot on the last month or so.

Oops. Just realised I posted this in the media lounge. If one of the mods could move it to the main ray forum that would be awesome.

Really?

So is the substance a discharge from the female after the deed was done?

Ok thanks, good to know. Marble pups to come hopefully!
