Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Cleveland Ohio and visited the newly opened Cleveland Aquarium.
It is located in an old industrial area in a renovated late 1800's power generating station.
They have extensive native fish displays as well as tropical and marine fish.

The slideshow link is here
You can just watch it run or pause it and step through the photos at your own pace ...

Enjoy !

Nice pics, I live here and haven't gone yet.

Yeah me too, I've heard good and bad things from my friends.
Lots of them say it's not worth it but i think it's because they're not true fish lovers!

BTW thanks for the pics!!

There were more fish there, I just did not post all the photos.
They had more rift lake Africans as well as many species of native darters.
Even though this is their first year, they had more fish than I was expecting.
I might not go again next year, but I will go the following year to see how the displays have changed ...

Ya it's ok. There is a lot of potential to have much better amazon setups though.

When we went the huge shark tank that you walk under was super cloudy. Which I understand as a fishkeeper. Hard enough to keep a 180 clear compared to millions of gallons. I'm sure its fine now though. I looovved the lobsters or whatever they were that was in the tank above your heads. Frickin sweet to watch. We even got a discount since the shark tank was cloudy. Wasn't bad....it seemed in middle of nowhere though. Lol

You must have went not to long after they opened. We went a few week's after they opened and bought a season pass. The monster saltwater tank was still cloudy. But I never thought to ask for a discount. We've went there a few times since and it is crystal clear. It was just the sand being all stirred up for the first couple of weeks. It is by far the best tank they have and worth going to see.

I visited on New Years day. The huge shark tank was cool, but the water was very cloudy. Loads of potential. Compared to other aquariums, this one is mediocre to poor. Newport is much better. The tropical freshwater display was a little disapointing to me. No Arrowana or Araipama. Not many true monsters. Just a Giant Gourami, a lot of red hook SD, and some various cichlids, and motoros. On a positive, the native display is the best I've ever seen.
