Well...I got a Climbing Perch a couple of months ago. All it does is hide. Do these guys prefer to be in groups or need dithers or what?

I have one, around 3" and I read that they hide alot, but mines out and about all the time, maybe its just mine.

Would getting a group work out or do they fight? Would any dithers be beneficial?

Not sure on a group but mine has a crush on my SA Lungfish and follows him everywhere so I'd try some dithers. Also feeding ghost shrimp cuz they do sneak attacks and pretend to be a leaf!

I have a group of 6 of these (leopard ctenompoma) that get along fine. I have a planted driftwood setup and they love to hide in the anubius. Sometimes people look in there and don't see any fish- it's kinda fun to point them out. Mine live peacefully with polypterus

i had 3 of them together and sometimes they would school but they mostly hide, But sometimes 2 ganged up against 1

Only from memory, but I'm fairly sure you should keap either one solitary or a group of 5+.

Could be wrong, but fairly sure thats what is suggested.
