does anyone know how to work these things? I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get the "clip" part to hook to the light part.

if its the kind i'm looking at, when i had that i just let it rest on the tank lid. you get just as much result and its easiest
lol thanks swede that was sooo helpful, you mean I dont have to build a platform over the tank for it?
i sense sarchasm ........ but honestly i don't know what you're looking for for an answer other than either rest it on top of the lid, or clip it onto something sturdy by the cage/tank, or like you said you could build something. its really not necessary though.
for some of the clip lights, you must separate the metal dome from the actual light fixture to attach the clip.
