Close call

I was doing my daily %40 water change and as the tank was filling up, I rushed downstairs to the smell of burning/melting plastic. Apparently I forgot to unplug my wavemaker, and it burned out. The plastic above the motor was melted and lost its shape. Thankfully none of the plastic fell into the aquarium since it was on top of the wavemaker (for once I got lucky!). If I had come down later when the wavemaker was submerged only God would know what chemicals would have leached into my tank.

Haha yes I know what you mean there but a leasing learned the hard way is the best way to learn. I have had many and many more to come.what powerhead was this?

Just a cheap one. I'll have to go through my amazon history to find it. I was able to get two for $15.

They were also 1300 gph each. I thought it was a good deal for two even though they were cheap. Knowing this I was trying to avoid a problem like this. I wasn't able to avoid this one. Just like most other problems...

Well in that case cheap lesoon learned. Can't say I have done this but I have been distracted and had to clean up 50g of water a few times before my drip

Same. Closer to like 5 gallons though.
