I have just fed my snakeheads down the fishhouse ,the auranty which had gone off its food and after weeks of care and perseverance and the fish now looking fine tried to bite my finger off . I bit the end off a rubber glove but as luck would have it ejected it so i could vac it out. The snakeheads are fed on earthworms bloodworm and prawns . I have 3 breeding pairs and some males kept on there own . They are kept in planted tanks with floating surface plants ,air powered homemade filtration which contains the flow ruling out any surface disruption ,although some of the tanks a rain effect is in place which they seem to like .The auranty is kept on his own and is a perfect looking fish,see photo gallery . Hi,it usually happens when they confuse fingers with food,it also happened to me during feeding time!
