Setting up and amazon theme aquarium. Blackwater habitat. What would be on the bottom of the river. Rotting leaves, wood, rocks? What does the bottom of the blackwater rivers have in them?

i was goin to d a amzo theme to i was goin to put snad with some rock maby some grass then some small broke drift wood picese

Watch Amazon Abyss, it's all about the river bottom. That said, don't imitate that in your aquarium...it works in the wild because it is a dynamic, open system, not a closed one like an aquarium.

There is a reason why no one sells "Authentic Amazon Decomposing Sludge" as a aquarium substrate....

Use flourite as the substrate and you'll get the same effect color-wise as an actual Amazon river bottom. Here's what I recommend for plants;

-Amazon sword
-Melon sword
-Brazilian micro sword
-Amazon frogbit
-Brazilian pennywort
-Southern waternymph
-Bacopa
-Stargrass
-Milfoil (various different species)
-Tilted red ludwigia

Make sure to use a lot of driftwood, especially the branch-like stuff.
