woke up this morning and the water seemed cloudy??? first time in the whole year that this tank was set up that it got cloudy. I immediatly assumed some sort of mini cycle because I did clean one of the filters, so I thought maybe that triggered it. So I tested the water and ammo 0, trite 0 and trate 10. ???????? what can the cloudiness be??? how to fix the problem???

I had the same problem, put in a new filter and had cloudy water for three days. The water was fine though (I did a partial water chage each day just to be sure, only about 20%) and the fish still seemed great. Woke up today and it's crystal clear again. I guess it just took a while for the new filter to catch up. But I was wondering too, what caused it exactly.
Adding a new filter without removing the old filter will not cause a cycle, unless you tank wasn't cycled already.
What color is the cloudiness? By cleaning your filter you may have started a cycle. When cleaning the filter, clean it in tank water during a water change. If the cloud was greenish it could have been an algae bloom.

hi i would stop feeding for a day or two. that will help i had same problem in my 125 gal.tank, that had 20 '' arowana and a red devil.
