it happens to all of us. its called new tank syndrome. chemicals levels are fluctuating which makes the tank appear cloudy. It can also be potentially harmful, but convicts are fairly hardy fish. Try to google new tank syndrome, or nitrogen cycle for a clearer definition.
It is probly an bact. bloom the tank is starting to make the ammiona into nitrites and then to nitrates. Its just part of the cycle should clear in a day or two. One ? though. the tank is not in direct sunlight in front of a window? If yes then it could be the start of green water algea.
not sure if this counts but I was forced to put fish in a day old tank and I used a safe start solution, being in uk dont know if you have this but my fish were fine and no cloudiness, just keep an eye on your fishes if they are ok wait til it cycles itself
