Cloudy Eye on an Umbee

Just discovered now that my 10 inch Umbee has a case of cloud eye. Will a water change and melafix treatment do? Or will salt be enough?

Thanks for your reply, Freshwaterpredators. He has a "lens" like cover on both eyes. Will adding a heater to raise the temp help as well? I hope this disappears soon.

you should be keeping the temp at high 70's to low 80s, other than that i would leave the temp alone. i keep all my tanks around 80-83 degrees. and after 2-3 weeks of constant water changes and salt his eyes should be healed up. if its not then you may have a gram negative bacteria infection which will require other meds.

What is a "gram negative bacteria infection?" I'll do the constant water changes as you recommended. Will 3 to 4 times a week be enough?
