cloudy eye

hey just found one of the fish with one cloudy eye with what looks like a white spot. i moved him to my 10 gal so what ever he has won't spread. i was told to treat with teatree oil 10 to 12 drops daily is this true or is there other remedies.

melafix or pimafix.
both are tea tree based.

adding salt to the tank can also help.

what kind of fish?
usually if its a big eye type of cichlid, this is caused from running into objects in the tank, usually leading to blindness.

do you have big eye fish such as frontosa, featherfins or peacocks?
do you have sharp rocks such as lace, lava or holey rock?
