 Hello All. My pleco is about 10 in., one of his eye's are clouded and so is his tankmate whech is a firemouth ciclid. The ciclid has a clouded line on his forhead. I used a medicin, but it seems not to work. Do you have any recommended ideas on saving my fish? Ideas like recommended medicines or othe ideas.

Please and Thank You..

I think that there are varying reasons for cloudy eyes. Water quality, parasites. Are your readings for your water ok?

First I can't thank you enoough for replying to this thread it's been out for awhile. Well now he is in my quaratine tank, he's getting a lot better. Well first I found out it was a fungus, because it was fluffy, by now there is very little left, using pimafix, and the water quality wasn't up to his standers so that probably was the problem. Now I'm doing tests on the main tank, for good water qualities.

Thank You Once Again,

Had something simular happen recently to me, not fungus but water going bad. Glad to hear that he's recovering. What kind of pleco do you have? How big?

Sounds like you go the problem in hand, keep up the water changes once everyone is back in place. I had to move our largest pleco into our smallest tank a few months back and keeping water params in check is a water change battle, still the fish recovered fully and is happy, even if I have to do a 50% change every other day:nilly:

Doing water changes should be sufficient enough. No need to add salts and meds.
