I picked up a small leopard Ctenopoma yesterday. I drip acclimated it and he seemed fine the rest of the day. He is eating and swims fine but one of his eyes seems a little bit cloudy. Water parameters are all perfect and pH is 6.8. Any ideas why this happened?

I recently moved my fish to a larger aquarium and caught them with a large quite coarse net as they pretty large...
One of the oscars also had a bit of a cloudy eye, but it turned out it was just a scratch from being caught in the net and its healed.... perhaps its that... or it could have a cataract on its cornea...

water changes and add salt and bump the temp to 82 degrees.

Temp is already at 80 and do I 40% WC's weekly. Do I really need to add salt for it to heal quickly? It actually seems to be getting a little better.

you can wait if you like. but salt will replace the slime lost with every water change, and helps it from getting infected.:D

My bichir when I first got him had a cloudy eye but it cleared after about a week in his new tank. I think the advice of upping the temp and continuing with the water changes as well as adding salt are good ideas. If he is eating well, I wouldn't worry too much.
