Cloudy film

Anyone know how I can get rid of this cloudy film that's on the top of my water I've done water changes cleaned filter I never use to have it now I can't get rid of it ..my filtration is fx5

how big is your tank? if it's small you can take some paper towels to soak it up. otherwise you can take your siphon, turn it upside down and make it "skim" the top of the water. it will probably come back, you need to find the source of it. are the water paremeters good? when i got mine my lfs told me to back off on the feedings, i guess i had a build up of phos... but theres no way i can tell since i didn't have the phos test kit back then. best of luck to you.
 
210 gal ill try to skim the top I just did a water change two days ago should be good maybe its the feeding trying to get aro and peacock on pellet food

Hello; If you do not have some sort of aggitation of the surface a protein film can form. I have had this in tanks. I use bubblers to keep the surface aggitated and break up this film.
 
I was going to ask what your feeding.. I've found some pellets to leave a film at the top of my tank particularly Hikari, but just about any pellet can do it. might try feeding less more often until they are definately "On" the pellets so there is minimla waste, or try a few different brands.
