So I recently decided to add 25 lbs of quikerete all purpose sand in my tank and I'm not sure I washed it all the way.. When I put it in my tank it was cloudy until the following morning and then was fine.. Now it's been about 3 days and it's cloudy again.... My fish aren't eating neither... What should I do and is this even because of the sand?

did you clean the sand before putting it into the tank? Might have something in the sand causing the no eating issue. Do a water change

Yes I did wash the sand before I put it in but idk if it was good enough.. It didn't seem like it was running clear when I stirred it up but I washed it for like over an hour... I was just looking closer in my tank and I have white things all over my glass!

If you washed it for over an hour you would of rinsed all the fines away that would of made your tank cloudy. Try running a power head with a pre-filter on it to polish the water. Have you done a water change? What is there for stock in the tank?

Oh thanks I figured out what it was.. It was a bacteria bloom

test your water for ammonia, if you are getting a bacteria bloom you will need to keep up every other day water changes, dosing the tank every time with prime till the ammonia's settle down to 0 again.

My ammonia was never up it was just brown algea all over my tank.. It's gone now

this caused cloudy water?

guess I am mis understanding. I read you added new sub straight, water was cloudy but settle down, but was cloudy again the next day, changing a sub straight can send your tank into a mini cycle until your bio filter catches up. there by causing a bloom to occur.

Yea I posted this before I knew what it was... It seems that the substrate maybe had nothing to do with it.. Who knows but I found brown algea all over my tank along with detritus
