hi guys ,

i have a 180 gallon freshwater tank , with a fluval fx5 running it , always have a slight haze to it ,you guys have any easy methods to make it crystal clear ?

much appreciated

Does the haze look like 1) particulate matter, 2) minute air bubbles or 3)an algae bloom (green or white)?

1) polishing pad for the filter.

2) air leak in the plumbing before the pump. Find (possible hissing noise) and fix

3) algae bloom, white immature bloom...don't worry it will turn green and get worse. UV sterilizer asap.

its a white and yes i am feeding , i have 2 large geos 2 gold sevs 2 large angels 2 clown loaches everybody is eating the water quality is fine , though i have a ph of about 7.5 no ammonia problems nitrate 20 and the nitrite .05 i know nitrite is supposed to be zero but im getting there :)

white cloudy can be a bacterial bloom and one thing to try is to try and clean all your filters. the use of antibiotics, which kills bacteria and makes it bloom in full effect, might be a reson for this.

ok guys im back its been a few days and i think the tank is a whitish green tint to it help help help , i dont want the tank to look like a swamp , i think its some kind of algae starting . kind of baffled though the tank has not been going that long .......

suggestions much appreciated
