I have a 120g tank that i have recently stocked with fish and the water is cloudy. The thing is it seems that its gotten cloudier over the past day or two. I am currently running an undergravel powered by two aquaclear 70 powerheads, and an odyssea cfs4 canister. I plan on getting either two aquaclear 500's or a fluval fx5. So i was wondering what was causing the cloudy water. Is it the bacteria, filters, simply because it is a brand new setup, or whatever. And will this harm my fish in any way, or is it nothing to worry about and it should clear up on its own. Thank you guys a ton.

sounds like your tank is cycling. How many fish did you put in there? How long has it been set up? If you have any other tanks up take some filter media from one of those and put it in your canister.

Ammonia, that is why the water is cloudy. Check your water parameters ammonia and nitrites should be zero and your nitrates you will want to keep below 30-40ppm Nitrates are controlled with water changes.
