Ok, i moved my 55g last weekend. Replaced the sand (it was nasty) and got it running on Sat. Has a Top Fin 60 and a Marineland 350 HOB filter, new media for both.

Tank was crystal clear until today (7 days later). What would cause this?? Ammonia is at 0, ph is 7.6

I have about 7 live plants and my fish include....

1 sucker
2 electric chiclids
1 large shrimp
2 small corys
1 gold fish
1 blood parrot
1 fiddler crab

Any ideas why is would get coudly?? Its not super cloudy, but def not clear as it was, thanks.

Did you keep your original filter media? If so, was it kept wet with the original tank water?

Sounds to me like you're going through the cycling process from scratch, your water is cloudy because of a bacterial bloom.

**EDIT -- Ignore my first sentence, got distracted and completely looked over your blurp about the media. You're definitely cycling. You may want to consider picking up a bottle of bacterial solution from your local petstore.

I used some API Stess Zyme when i added the water back to the tank.

You think ita already cycling???

Yep, it's either a bacteria bloom, or an algae bloom. If it looks like pea soup, it's algae. More than likely though, you're seeing bacteria. I would get a bottle of Seachem Stability, Tetra Safe-Start, or Dr. Tim's One and Only since you already have fish in the tank. In the meantime, do some water tests to watch for ammonia and nitrites and be prepared to react to them via water changes until your cycle stabilizes again.

For the future, don't change out your substrate and filter media at the same time.

Even though you are overstocked, if your water was clear before it will probably clear up again. I wouldn't add any chemicals or change a thing yet. Give it about two weeks and it might clear up on its own. Since you have 0 ammonia, you aren't cycling again. As suggested, if it is a white/gray haze, it's probably just a bacterial bloom and ought to resolve itself. Feed lightly and be patient.

lol - I just re-read my last post. Don't bother with the bottled bacteria. That's what you're already seeing. That's what I get for posting when I'm sick with a sinus infection.
